He wasn’t quite 30 when I first met him. He wasn’t quite 50 when he breathed his last. Some of my happiest moments were the Little Soldiers composing days. And the music director, Sri, was the magical creator of that joy along with Seetharama Sastry.
He had created many unforgettable melodies. Many, but not quite enough to justify his immense talent. He had much more to give. The heart yearns for all those unsung songs. And misses his buoyant voice.
Gangaraju Gunnam 
గంగరాజు గుణ్ణం గారి “లిటిల్ సోల్జర్స్” సినిమాలో పాటలు శ్రీ కే కాదు తెలుగు సినిమా పాటల్లోనే ఒక ల్యాండ్‌మార్క్. దూరదర్శన్ ట్రైలర్స్‌లో బేబి కావ్య “అడగాలనుంది ఒక డౌటుని” “ఐయాం వెరి గుడ్ గర్ల్ టెల్ మి అవర్ టీచర్” అని పాడుతుంటే పిల్లలంతా టివిలకి అతుక్కుపోయేవారు. అన్నీ మంచి పాటలున్న ఈ సినిమాలో పిల్లల్ని ఊరడించే ప్రయత్నంలో వచ్చే “సరేలే ఊరుకో పరేషాన్ ఎందుకు” మనసుని కట్టి పడేసే పాట.
ఇదే సినిమాలో “ఓ ఓ ఓ వెండివెన్నెల ఓ ఓ ఓ దిగిరా ఇలా” వెంటాడి మనసులో రొమాన్స్‌ని తట్టిలేపే పాట. ఆ రోజుల్లో సాయంత్రాలు డాబాల పైన కూర్చుని వాక్‌మ్యాన్లో రివైండ్ చేస్తూ పదే పదే టినేజర్స్ విన్న పాట.
