ఫిబ్రవరి 2001 లో మొదలైంది, అమృతం పాట కాగితం మీద పెట్టే పని. ఎన్ని సార్లు ఎన్ని ఆలోచనలు, అమరికలు రాసి-కొట్టేసి-రాసిందో సీతారామ శాస్త్రి కలం. అరేబిఅయా బావి లో చమురు లాగ ఆ కలం లో సిరా బోలుడంత, కాని సంతృప్తి ఎడారి లో నీటి బొట్టంత. ఎలాగైతే, అక్టోబర్ చివర్లో ఆ కర్కస కలానికి కనికరం, తృప్తి కలిగాయి. కాని చదవటానికి నేను ఊళ్ళో లేను. సీతారామ శాస్త్రి కి ఉత్సాహం ఆగలేదు. హిమాచల్ లో వున్న నాకు ఫోన్ చేసి పొగలు కక్కే పాట వినిపించాడు.
పంతొమ్మిది సంవత్సరాల తర్వాత, నేను ఊళ్ళోనే వున్నా, నాకు మళ్ళీ ఫోన్ చేసాడు. మార్చ్ 16 అర్ధరాత్రి, అదే ఉత్సాహం తో. అమృతం ద్వితీయం పాట పాడి వినిపించాడు.
మంచి పాటలు చేవిలోకే కాదు, గుండెలోకి వెళ్తాయి. సీతారాముడి పాట డైరెక్ట్ గా శంఖం లోకి పారుతుంది.
